Site Prep- It’s Important to prepare the site and excavate it for the proper foundation for your home. At this time, we also keep the future steps in mind and try to set the site up to be the most efficient throughout the whole project.

Footers or Slab? – The next step is pouring your footers and or slab. We pour to the manufacturer and county inspectors standards. The type of foundation you need is determined by your location, the size of the home and the site layout. This step is crucial to the longevity of your home!

After 3 days or more your home can be placed on the foundation and leveled, we do not haul homes or set them on the foundation.

All plumbing under the home must be connected together and sloped properly towards your septic tank or city sewer tap.

Once the home is in place all utilities (Water and Electric) can be installed and connected to the home. Our Electric is done by a licensed electrician. Whether you have city water or a cistern we can get the job done.

If your septic system is an old system, it will need to be inspected and approved by the county health inspector. A new home could mean an addition to the system or a new system. Either way, we’ve got you covered!

At this point the project is on the home stretch. Block or vinyl skirting are most commonly used around the perimeter of the home. If block is used, we seal the block prior to any backfill.

A perimeter drain is necessary to pull as much water away from your foundation as possible. This must be bedded in and covered with gravel, prior to the backfill process. You can also run your gutters into this drain.

Once your drain is installed and covered with rock the backfill process can begin. This is a crucial step because, this determines what your yard looks like later on. the smoother the better, you’ll appreciate this when you mow.

This step isn’t necessary on your home but it’s a nice addition. A sidewalk and or stoop at your doorway will help reduce the amount of dirt you track in your home, and they are aesthetically pleasing. When pouring these we also like to pour the driveway if that’s an option you chose. If you plan on having one poured now is the time. If concrete isn’t your style a nice deck is a cheap way to spruce up your entrance and add some seating area.

The final touches- It’s time to wrap the project up, when seed and straw goes down it signifies the end of the project is near.

If you chose to go with a gravel driveway, we would do final touchups now. This would completely wrap up the project.
